Privacy policy

What we collect

Enquiry forms collect name, email, optional phone, company, vessel or site, service interest, and your message. We also store the page you submitted from, a truncated technical user agent, and your IP address for abuse prevention.

Cloudflare Turnstile

Enquiry forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to confirm the submission is from a person. The widget runs in your browser and Cloudflare processes a challenge token, together with technical data such as IP address and browser details, under Cloudflare's privacy policy. We receive a pass or fail result. We do not use Turnstile for advertising.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the website is used: pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, and referral source. Google may set cookies such as _ga and process this data on its servers, including outside the Maldives, under Google's privacy policy. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.

Google Maps

The contact page may embed a Google Map of our Malé office. Loading that map sends a request to Google, which may collect technical data as described in Google's privacy policy. Opening the Google Business listing takes you to Google's own site.

Cookies and similar technology

We set a session cookie for CSRF protection on forms. Cloudflare Turnstile and Google Analytics may set their own cookies or similar storage. These are used to run the site, stop automated abuse, and measure traffic. They are not used to sell your data.

Why we collect it

To respond to Starlink and managed IT enquiries, prepare quotations, keep the site secure, and improve ride.mv. We do not sell this data.

Storage and sharing

Enquiry records are stored in our MySQL database on the hosting account and may be copied into our internal mailbox. CSRF tokens live in a session cookie. We share data with service providers only as needed to operate the site: Cloudflare (Turnstile), Google (Analytics and Maps), and our host and email provider.

Retention

Enquiry records are kept for as long as needed to fulfil the request and our accounting or legal obligations, then deleted or anonymised. Analytics data is retained according to our Google Analytics property settings.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the enquiry data we hold about you, or to send you a copy. You can also withdraw the consent you gave on the form. If you withdraw consent we will stop using your details to follow up, except where we must keep a record for accounting, security, or legal reasons.

You can opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, or by blocking analytics cookies in your browser.

Email [email protected] to make a request. Say which right you want to use and how we can identify your enquiry (for example the email address you submitted). We will reply within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm your identity before we change or delete records.
